Worms have become very popular these days and many people are taking yup to setting up small worm farms with the help of worm factories. Worms thrive just about anywhere even ripped off cardboard, torn and discarded pizza boxes, newspapers etc. But as they finish digesting their food they tend to move away to another place which has more food.

So if you intent to raise worms you need to get a worm factory as this will enable you to get plenty of worm castings and worm tea.

Worms nibble on discarded fruit and vegetable scraps and convert them to what is called worm castings. This is known as worm composting where they help to convert the scraps into nutrient rich fertilizer for your plants.

Worm castings are the best nutrients for plants and gardens and many master gardeners swear by this as it is the most natural fertilizer. The worm factory helps you to sort out the undigested food scraps which can really be a very messy affair. This makes composting easy for anyone using a worm factory.

The worm factory is a box like structure which is readily available in the market and it is made of plastic. This worm factory is designed in such a way that it helps to separate the undigested food scraps from the worm castings which is the compost. This unit is provided with trays and the worms with the newspaper bedding and food are placed in the bottom most tray.

Once they have finished digesting all the food they will begin to move up to the next tray leaving behind loads of worm castings and also a thick liquid called worm tea which can easily be drained off as a tap is fitted to the worm factory. This worm tea can be collected in bottles and used for adding to the soil in your garden.

The worm factory spares you the trouble of dealing with bad odours and this can be placed right inside your house or apartment.

Using a worm factory you can easily breed up to 12000 worms and you will get a good harvest of worm castings which you can sell to other people for a tidy sum.
